What is this?

Hi, I'm Alex Revill

I want to build the world's most effective and repeatable system for finding better problems to solve.

Every great product solves a great problem.. but where do great problems come from?

ProblemKit started as an experimental email series that set out to answer this deceptively simple question.

We've made some great progress since then and had a lot of interest from founders, investors, and others in the startup ecosystem.

So now it's growing into something much bigger than that.

  • The blog. Learn about problemcraft from real founders, hear from investors about what makes a problem attractive in a pitch deck, and get new tools to help find your next problem.
  • The book. A no-frills, how-to guide to finding better problems. Scheduled for Q4 2025.
  • Direct engagements. If you work with a team, studio, or program of people building new things, ProblemKit can help you craft a portfolio of interesting, high-value problems.

And coming soon: Events.

About me, in three:

  • I studied Neuroscience because I wanted to unlock the mystery of human consciousness. Spoiler: I didn’t.
  • I worked for six years as an ‘intrapreneur’ at GSK, a £70Bn pharmaceutical company. I helped kick off new digital health ventures, taught scientists and engineers how to find great problems, and wrote digital strategy memos for the CDTO and CEO.
  • I started a fertility startup with a friend. We found a great problem. We designed a really cool solution. But then we had different visions for how to grow it... so we put a pin in that.

But I noticed something interesting along the way...

After working with hundreds of talented scientists, engineers and startup founders, I noticed that world-class innovators simply have an uncanny ability to pick better problems.

✨ Now, I've made it my mission to find out how they do it, and to share it with you.
